Eto'o and Barcelona

Samuel Eto'o said clearly in his latest interview, "Premier League is awesome. It has high standards. Playing there would be fantastic"

What happened to Barcelona? A solid team, with great history, and filled with star players, but with one problem; they haven't won any trophies for the past two years. Consequently, supporters became impatient and wanted see manager Frank Rijkaard sacked.

In addition, as a result of the stories around Ronaldinho, that he has become too fat and lost his performance, the atmosphere in Barca has turned unpleasant. This has caused poor team performance and unfortunate losses, and after weeks of frustration the chance to win La Liga was eventually lost.

Just days after, Frank Rijkaard was sacked, and many star players will be released from the team, including Gianluca Zambrotta and Ronaldinho. The stance of Eto'o is complicating things even further, stating the racist treatment from arenas allover Spain and that he's lost the respect of Barelona's fans as the reasons for his desire to depart from the club, which would undoubtedly be a sad end to a fabulous streak from a top striker in the club said to be more than a club.
