Sergio Ramos: I Am Staying At Real

Real Madrid right back Sergio Ramos has reiterated that he is happy at the Bernabeu and that he wants to carry on playing for the Merengues until the day he retires from football.

Sergio Ramos is still only 22 and the 2007-2008 season is the third season that the former Sevilla FC star is playing for Real Madrid. He is rated as one of the best in is position in the world.

The speculation that he is on his way out of Real Madrid was flared up last month when he was quoted in the Spanish press as saying that the club and the playing staff didn't support him when he was sent off against Real Mallorca in a Spanish league fixture.

Ramos had subsequently apologized but the name of Chelsea was constantly getting linked to that of Ramos. Now of course things would change.

Ramos said:

"I am very sure that I am staying.

"I am flattered that great teams like AC Milan or Chelsea are interested in me. That is a sign that things are going well for me and drives you on to keep improving and playing better for Real Madrid.

"I have a very long contract and the only thing I think about is retiring here. I am very comfortable with my teammates, the club, the city and so are my family.

"Also I feel calm. I have renewed my contract and I am very pleased with the deal I have, although one always aspires to improve and grow in every aspect.'

There you have, the best right back in the whole of Spain remains at the best club in the entire world!
