Karim Benzema Unveiled By Madrid

Friday, July 10, 2009 -- Spanish giants Real Madrid unveiled their fourth signing of the summer Karim Benzema at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday.

Benzema is the fourth signing of Real Madrid's second Galacticos era and was signed from French giants Olympique Lyon for 35 million euros. Benzema is only 21 years of age and is already a French international striker, who has been on top of his game for the past two seasons, shreding defences both in Spain and in Europe to pieces.

Benzema was officially unveiled to the Madrid supporters on Thursday evening. Nearly 30,000 Madridistas came to the Bernabeu to witness the unveiling. Speaking on the grand occasion, the 21-year-old said:

"I am very happy to play in the same club as my idols, Zidane and Ronaldo. Thank you Florentino Perez."

Interestingly, Benzema has not been given a squad number yet, which might imply that the number he wants is already taken and that the player who currently wears that number might leave this summer.
