Monday, May 12 2008 -- Chelsea custodian Petr Cech is enjoying his time in London and hasn't been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. Until now, that is.
The Czech international custodian's agent Pavel Zika, speaking to Czech newspaper Pravo, dropped a bomshell by declaring that there are offers for Cech and one of them is from a European giant (which Zika refused to name) who are eager to lash out as much as 30 million pounds for the 25-year old in the summer to prisk him away from the Bridge.
Zika said:
"I know quite a large European club is ready to pay over 30 million euros for Petr Cech. It is an important sum for a goalkeeper. At the end of the season, we will consider the current contract of Petr and see whether we can improve it."
To be fair, this seems more like a "flier" than anything else to improve Cech's contract at Chelsea. Cech is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and although a host of top European clubs would sign him, Cech is happy at Chelsea for now.
