Tuesday, June 30, 2009 -- Respected Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla is confident that Inter Milan right-back Maicon will leave for Premier League club Chelsea this summer.
Maicon is regarded by many as the best right-back in the world and the 27-year-old reinforced this belief by displaying a stupendous performance for Brazil at the Confederations Cup. He has been linked with moves to either Real Madrid or Chelsea and according to transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla the Brazilian international would join Chelsea.
Pedulla told Sportitalia:
"It's very probable that Maicon goes to Chelsea. It will be the week of the interweaving with Chelsea. Inter should be led to accept by having Deco and Ricardo Carvalho added in the negotiation. It will also be the week of [Marko] Arnautovic's confirmation, then Inter will concentrate on the minor negotiations, like the transfer of [Patrick] Vieira to Paris Saint-Germain."
