David Silva Not Thinking Of Real Madrid

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 -- Valencia star and Spanish international winger David Villa has once again refuted suggestions that he would be joining Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.

Silva and his Spanish international teammates have already arrived at the Iberian nation after their Confederations Cup campaign and rumours have begun to haunt him. Valencia are in dire financial situation and are slated to sell out a number of key players from their squad this summer to compensate their over 400 million euro debt and one of those players is David Silva.

But the Spaniard says that at the moment he has no plans of joining Real Madrid. Speaking to a reporter in Spain after he landed, Silva made it clear that he is planning to stay with Valencia beyond the summer.

Silva said:

“I am happy here and I am thinking only about Valencia, who are a great club and who also have fantastic players. Now, all I want to do is have my rest after a long campaign and when the pre-season begins, I want to make sure my batteries are fully recharged.”
