Wonderboy striker Cristiano Ronaldo, 22, will remain in England. The Portugese national signed an extension contract with Manchester United until 2012 today.

Rumours had placed one of the world's most talked about players in many of Europe's top clubs. The most persistent track has been Spanish Real Madrid - a club that Ronaldo himself has talked about in positive terms. But today was the day when all of Man U's fans could express a collective sigh of relief.

- I am very satisfied in the club and I want to win more titles. Hopefully, we will win some already this season, says Ronaldo to the Club's home page.

Sir Alex Ferguson:

- This is wonderful news. It shows that Ronaldo likes it hear and that he is in the right club. He has a good relation to the team, the Board, and the fans. He will become on of Manchester United's greatest players.
