La Gazzetta Dello Sport is arguably the most respected sports daily in Europe and its reports are seldom mere speculation. So when it suggests that Itaian giants Inter Milan are preparing a massive bid for the FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, you do have to take the news seriously.
La Gazzetta reports that Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti wants to import the Cameroonian international from Barcelona and is ready to splash out 40 million euros. This comes after days after Inter's 25 million pound for Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was turned down.
Samuel Eto'o though is not really up for sale. He is one of the few Barcelona players who are assured to linger on at the Camp Nou cathedral beyond the season. But Inter, given the money that they possess, might as well throw the dice and have a crack.
