Tiger back at Bethpage to stave off Open Title

Sunday, June 21, 2009 -- Tiger Woods showed his stubborn side on the 15th fairway at the Bethpage Black, as he stared towards the green and backed off as if he wants to change clubs, but then decided to stick with the 4-iron on his hands.

He hit pure but the ball run short of the green, he laughed and said "I've already hit too many 3-irons on par 4s today".

In 2002, an additional 212 yards was shown at the scorecard of Bethpage Black. It was during the U.S Open when Woods was the only one to finish under par and defeated Phil Mickelson by three shots. Black’s moist grass along with a bad weather forecast will make it even more challenging.

On Tuesday, "This is probably the most difficult golf course we've faced from tee to green” said woods. “ Obviously, it's not the green complexes this week — certainly not Oakmont, or it's not Winged Foot. But from tee to green, this golf course is all you want. With the weather coming in here this week, it's only going to get longer and harder. And it's going to be even more difficult."

If Woods manages to grab the victory this week, he will become the seventh player to subsequently win
