Saturday, June 20, 2009 -- According to reports, Italian champions Inter Milan are on the verge of selling their star right-back Maicon to Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.
Il Corriere Dello Sport reports that Inter director Marco Branca is in Madrid to start negotiations with Real Madrid over a possible deal for the Brazilian international right-back. Inter want around 25 million euros for the player.
But a Spain-based football journalist has claimed that Madrid are not interested in Maicon as they have Sergio Ramos at right-back.
"Branca has been in Madrid about Maicon, but Real Madrid have said they are not interested in Maicon because they have Sergio Ramos for the right side," said Arancha Rodriguez of Radio Onda Cero.
