Fantasy Preview - Final - SL v Pak

Ah, so here we are, just a day away from the finals of the ICC World T20 and two of the Asian teams, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be sharpening their claws to be able to have a hand on the trophy. The Sports Pundit Fantasy experts will also be dreaming about that elusive ticket to watching a cricket game if they managed to top the fantasy standings; however, if not, there are enough prizes to keep you interested!
Sri Lanka’s reliance will be on their top-order. T.Dilshan has been in supreme touch in the tournament so far, and has smashed almost a 100 runs more than the second placed batsman in the top run-getters’ list. However, after getting to a 96 in the semi-finals, I wonder whether he has any more fuel left in the tank to be able to continue with his savagery. In fact, Sanath Jayasuriya’s dismal display of batting in the West Indies has left me wondering whether this could just be the last time we see this great man batting, and which is why, a typical Jayasuriya innings is what I could just be hoping for.

To me though, the main worry is the Sri Lankan middle-order, which, after being so reliant on the likes of Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara, hasn’t done anything of note; except a couple of knocks from Mahela Jayawardene leading up to the semi-finals. One never knows, but Chamra Silva could be one man who could be looked into if you, as a Sports Pundit Fantasy expert want to take a risk and try and jump up the table.

Shahid Afridi’s man-of-the-match performance means that he will most certainly be my all-rounder in the team. He looks to be a player who is currently supremely confident about his bowling and that has rubbed on to his previously flagging batting. Younus Khan has been Pakistan’s top run-getter, but Misbah-ul-Haq may want to wipe those ghosts of the previous ICC World T20 finals and win it for the team.

Amongst bowlers, between Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal, it will be a stiff toss-up, and my suggestion is that if you have enough transfers left, get in both the players. And if you have had used up most of them, and want to reserve some of them for the Sri Lankan bowlers, then Umar Gul could just be a better option, given the fact that Sri Lankans will play spinners much better than the pace bowler.
