Friday, May 9 2008 -- Valencia are now almost safe from relegation although not mathematically. Two wins in three matches under new coach Voro have done the trick and the club are already looking for someone to replace interim coach Voro at the end of the season.
The question is who shall hold the reigns at the Mestalla next season? Racing Santander coach Marcelinho was arguably the best bet but he seems to have withdrawn his interest after learning that there shall be a massive exodus of players in the summer.
Now the most likely candidate for the Valencia hotspot is the Almeria coach Unai Emery. Catalan sports daily Sport.es reports that Emery and Valencia have already reached an agreement between themselves. The paper reports that the 36-year old shall take control of the club from next season.
Emery is one of the most talented young coaches in Spain and after leading Almeria to La Liga last season, he has now guided them to mid-table respectability in the Spanish top flight.
