As the IPL’s second season in South Africa has ended, some amazing numbers have been coming up through the post season analysis. Among those are the ‘ducks’ that is all the batsmen that have gone out off the very first ball.
The numbers add up to as many as 26 players with Royal Challengers Bangalore (LRPL Taylor, KP Pietersen, RK Bishnoi, JD Ryder, RV Uthappa, Pankaj Singh, JH Kallis) and Kolkata Knight Riders (AN Ghosh, BAW Mendis, AB Dinda, BB McCullum, SC Ganguly, WP Saha) topping the list with six wickets each.
Rajasthan Royals (AD Mascarenhas, MM Patel, SA Asnodkar, SK Warne) with four wickets, Mumbai Indians (ST Jayasuriya, AM Rahane, Harbhajan Singh) with three.
Deccan Chargers (VVS Laxman, AC Gilchrist) and Delhi Daredevils (G Gambhir, AB de Villiers) with two each, while Chennai Super Kings (S Badrinath) and Kings XI Punjab (S Sohal) with one each.
Also, as many as 5 batsmen have been dismissed without even facing a single delivery in the second installation of IPL-
Kings XI Punjab leads with three wickets, PP Chawla getting run out twice, and K Goel; L Balaji of Chennai Super Kings and R Vinay Kumar of Royal Challengers Bangalore, both run out.
