Wednesday, May 7 2008 -- If you believe the British daily The Guardian, then you should be led to believe that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking foward to signing Gennaro Gattuso from AC Milan in the summer.
This would indeed be a radical change in Wenger's transfer philosophy. Over the years, the Frenchman has signed young and promising players, not already established world class footballers but in the wake of the recent lack of depth in their squad, Arsene Wenger could be persuaded to alter that system.
The Guardian reports that Wenger is inclined to sign the Italy World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso at the end of the season. Gattuso has been under par this season for AC Milan and is reportedly one main player whom Milan do not want anymore and are reportedly lookng to offload at the end of the season.
Wenger has lost 24-year old defensive midfielder Matthieu Flamini to Milan and that has left a hole in the anchoring department in the midfield. Gattuso is speculated to fill in that gap.
