Saturday, May 30, 2009 -- Liverpool star striker Fernando Torres is hopeful that his club would sign the Valencia duo David Villa and David Silva this summer.
Valencia are on the verge of a financial meltdown and it is expected that they would have to shed some of their star players to combat their financial crisis. It has been reported that their Spanish international duo David Villa and David Silva would be the first ones to be sold for a combined fee of around 100 million euros.
Liverpool striker and the two Davids' Spanish international teammate Fernando Torres has given his backing to Liverpool signing the players. He told the Madrid based Spanish sports daily Marca:
"Villa and Silva would complement Liverpool greatly."
