Attractions in the NBA

Currently, people are being pessimistic in the NBA. There are talks how the failing economy is having an effect on not permitting fans to enjoy the game. However, till the season ends on 15th April, there are some attractive points regarding the NBA which are listed below.

Cavaliers may make history

On 15th April, the Cavaliers host Philadelphia 76ers at Quicken Loans Arena. Till this match, if LeBron and Co. win 3 more matches against Boston, Washington and San Antonio Spurs, they would have a record of 39-1. Moreover, if Cleveland Cavaliers defeat Philadelphia, then the team would finish with a record of 40-1. In this way, they can tie the 1985-86 Celtics for best home record ever.

Rookies

Brandon Rush of Indiana was scoreless in 11 games and then managed 29 points in back to back games. The other rookies who have begun to play well are Mike Taylor of the Clippers and Anthony Morrow. Taylor accrued 35 points against the Knicks. Morrow scored 29 points while playing against Mavericks. On the other hand, Joe Alexander made a career high 16 points against the Nets. It is worthwhile to watch these rookies in action.

Competitive teams

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Bulls at home and further in Orlando beat the Magic. In a space of 2 weeks, the Spurs were defeated twice by the Thunder. When the Sacramento Kings met the Phoenix Suns, it was a must win game for the Suns, but the Kings managed 126 points on the Suns. These 3 teams i.e. the Raptors, the Thunder and the Kings, are out of the playoffs but are playing so competitively that life does not seem easier for the opponent team.

Allen Iverson in Detroit

The Detroit Pistons have a record of 24-30 when Allen Iverson is included in the current roster. As he was demoted to the bench, he began speculating if he should continue playing with the same team next year. It must be noted that at 22 million USD, he is the 2nd highest paid player in the league. In the current season, he has averaged 17.4 points per game which are lesser as compared to his whole career. So, the issue to be watched is whether he gives up the lucrative free agent dollars, accepts a tremendous pay cut and reunites with Larry Brown in Charlotte.

Bulls depends on Rose

The Chicago Bulls have a lead of 1.5 games over Charlotte and there are 6 games balance. The Bulls now depend on Rose, a rookie point guard, to take care of 80 percent of the Bulls offense. The previous occasion when Rose was subjected to this sort of pressure was when he was participating in the national championship game in college. In such circumstances, when the game was on the line, he knocked a free throw. It remains to be seen that while playing in the NBA whether he is successful in rising to the occasion.
