Sunday, April 27 2008 -- In an interview to the sports paper Record, FC Barcelona midfielder Deco stated that he would like to stick onto Camp Nou until the end of his current contract which runs until the summer of 2010.
Deco has been one of many players linked with a move away from Barca in the summer as club president Joan Laporta plans to renovate the most important Catalan insititution there is. The Brazilian-born Portuguese international himself had told earlier in the season that he would possibly move onto the English Premiership at the end of the season.
But Deco's U-turn comes as a surprise really. Barca coach Frank Rijkaard has kept him on the sidelines for most of the season and word is that Rijkaard deems Deco a liability and is ready to offload him.
