British tabloid The Sun reports that Tottenham Hotspur have signed the highly rated Croatian international midfielder Luka Modric from Dinamo Zagreb for 20 million pounds.
A host of clubs were in for the player who is regarded as one of the best in Europe. The likes of Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Manchester City and even Newcastle United had exhibited keen interest in signing the player but it has now been revealed that Spurs have bought the signature of the player.
An unnamed source from Zagreb said:
"Everything has been agreed and Modric will be going to Tottenham. All the details are in place and the fee is 20 million pounds."
Modric has signed a 5-year deal with Spurs.
