Monday, February 23, 2009 -- Former Manchester United star David Beckham has tipped the reigning Premier League and European champions to get past Italian champions Inter Milan in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Beckham is currently with Inter's city-rivals AC Milan and featured in the Milan derby in the Italian Serie A few days days ago in which he was on the losing side.
Speaking to The Independent about his former club's chances, the England international midfielder said:
"They have good players all the way through the squad but I think the two forwards (Adriani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are [especially] strong."
"They are quick, they can hold the ball well and they are not frightened. You have to control them."
"United have also got players that can win games and their defence is exceptional at the minute.
"They are [favourites] in my eyes, but I'm biased. They are on a run where they look unbeatable, and I hope that continues.
"I'm on their side because I'm a Man Utd. fan and a Milan player. I'll speak to some of the [United] players and the manager, I'm sure."
The first leg of this clash is on Tuesday at the San Siro.
