Friday, April 25 2008 -- Real Madrid could wrap up the Spanish league title as early as this weekend when they take on Athletic de Bilbao on Sunday. Should they defeat the Basque giants and both Villarreal and FC Barcelona lose, then the Merengues would clich their 31st La Liga title.
And they could even have star striker Ruud van Nistelrooy for their match against Bilbao at the Bernabeu. The Dutch international striker has been out of action for two months with an ankle injury that required surgery. But he is back in training for the MAdrid giants and his return would certainly solve coach Bernd Schuster's headache over his attacking options.
But given that Real are no real hurry to seal their 31st league triumph, Schuster might not like to risk a still recovering Ruud van Nistelrroy this weekend. Instead he might play the striker next week against relegation threatened Osasuna.
