Real Madrid have been sensationally linked with a big money move for the Chelsea star Michael Essien at the end of the season. It's being speculated that the Madrid giants could land the player at the Bernabeu for a massive sum of 30 million euros.
Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic met Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon when the Premiership outfits played Fenerbahçe at Stamford Bridge last month and was reportedly told that Essien would be sold only for 35 million euros.
Real are prepared to pay 25 million euros for the services of the player who shall be a replacement for Mahamadou Diarra who is bound for Inter Milan in the summer. The Dairra's agent Frederic Guerra says:
"We will have to see what happens after Madrid play Barcelona. After that we will know more clearly what could happen. Diarrá is not happy at Madrid because he is not playing very much. It is a worrying situation."
Chelsea are set to undergo a massive revamp in the summer as owner Roman Avramovich wants to rejevenate his squad and make them more entertaining.
