Tuesday, April 22 2008 -- The Wes Brown contract saga is ultimately over. The 28-year old defender's contract with Manchester United was supposed to run out at the end of the current season and with the England international rejected an offer from Man United earlier in the season, there was mounting speculation that Brown could pack his bags off to Newcastle United in the summer.
But it's been confirmed that Brown would stick onto Old Trafford until the summer of 2012. Wes Brown has signed a new four-year deal and says that he is happy to have sone so:
"Manchester United is a fantastic club and I am delighted to have signed a new deal.
"To be part of a team I have supported all my life is a great honour.
"I can see this team winning many trophies in the coming seasons and it will be great to share in that success."
Brown has played at right back for Man United this in the absence of the club's captain Gary Neville. He has been impressive i his role and has been a regular for Sir Alex Ferguson who himself sustains his faith in the player who came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford.
