Sunday, January 4, 2009 -- John Daly is most known for his impressive driving distance, as well his game, language and sometimes less than golf club-like attire on the green. One of the most recent issues that surrounded this player included a tee he shot from the top of a beer can and for making Jon Gruden (Tampa Bay Bucaneers Coach) as his caddie after a rain delay.

Daly was most recently in the public eye when photos of him in a bright orange jail suit with eyes half closed appeared all over the internet. It was those events, claimed the golfer, that lead the PGA to suspend him for 6 months.

His move of revealing the degree of his suspension goes against the PGA-Tours policy of keeping fines and suspensions hush-hush. However, Daly claims that he is only doing this to be fair to his fans. He says that he isn’t abandoning them and playing for the European circuit. It’s just that he doesn’t have a choice.

Daly admits that he isn’t certain if divulging his suspension was the smartest thing to do. He also says that “his suspension" is not fair in reality, but it’s probably fair in perception. Daly added that it is hard for him not to be able to play on the West Coast because he loves it there.
