Monday, April 21 2008 -- FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has sensationally sent ripples of shockwaves across Catalunya as the Cameroonian said that should the club fail to garner any title next season, he would have no choice other than leave the Camp Nou.
Samuel Eto'o has been at Camp Nou since the summer of 2004 when he was signed from Real Mallorca and at Barcelona the Cameroonian international striker has developed to become one of the most feared strikers in world football. This season, like last season, Eto'o has been crippled by injuries and even amid the speculation that the Catalan giants are to undergo major changes in the summer, he is one player who is guaranteed to linger on at Barca.
Yet his warning to Barcelona about gathering trophies is quite stark indeed. Eto'o said:
"If next year we continue like this year, yes. I want to win titles, and if I can't win them here, I will win them at another club.
"But in Spain my cycle has finished. I have touched the ceiling in Barcelona so if I leave I will go abroad to another league."
Another league implies either the Premiership or the Italian Serie A. AC Milan have always sounded eager to land the player and maybe in the future they could do so.
