It was stars and cars for McLaren Mercedes as they celebrated the end of the motorsport season with the 2008 Formula One Drivers' Champion, Lewis Hamilton. Things weren't quite in Italy either as Ferrari were celebrating their 2008 Formula One Constructors' title with the Ferrari World Finals at Mugello.

For the German party, many high profile guests including the World Boxing Champion, Vitali Klitschko, were present on the occasion where Lewis Hamilton greeted the 70,000-odd fans in German. Speaking on the occassion, Hamilton said, "In 2007, I was able to celebrate together with many thousands of spectators being runner-up after only one year in Formula One. Today, one year later, and with 72,000 visitors, we celebrate the world championship. It’s absolutely crazy how many people came today and I hope everybody had fun - I had it, that's for sure."

Meanwhile in Italy, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were received with an explosion of cheering as they completed several laps in a Formula One car. A surprise for the fans came as a Ferrari FXX Supercar took to the tracks with none other than Michael Schumacher behind the wheel, alongside official test driver Luca Badoer. Ferrari President, Luca di Montezemolo claimed that the final laps in Brazil were extremely tense moments, so much so that the result of the race led to a destroyed television set in his home.

"I broke the television, I must tell the truth," Di Montezemolo told the press. "When a television breaks it makes a terrible bang. My daughter in the other room was given an awful fright. Luckily we had another television so I was able to watch the podium ceremony, which I enjoyed."
