The doctors are to perform a series of biopsies and may be able to decide on the course of treatment after the result.

His first operation took place in October 16 around 9 o’clock in the morning. The team of La Paz Hospital Neurosurgery Service was aiming to remove the brain tumor at first attempt. There were no reported complications so far after the operation but Seve needed another surgery after a week as soon he is out from the intensive care unit.

Though his condition was stable, he remained in the ICU until early this week. The doctors continued to perform the second operation in October 21. Doctors took out a sizeable tumor but did not give reports if the mass was malignant. They opened part of his skull to allow more room for the brain to expand. Normally, every after brain surgery, the brain swells. This is known as decompressive craniotomy.

As of this time, Seve is in a state of very low level of consciousness because of the inflammation.

Holding a legendary performance in golf, Seve is evidently loved by his colleagues and fans. They continuously show their sincere and heartfelt support on his ordeal. Top tennis player Rafael Nadal, also a Spaniard himself, believes that Seve can strongly face and overcome this challenge. He openly sends his strength and support to Ballesteros and his family.
