Brady injured his knee badly early in the season, ripping his ACL and meniscus.

Originally, the quarterback had torn ligaments repaired in his leg on October 6. Surgeons reported that the operation went well. This week, according to the Globe, Brady started to feel ill from an infection.

Brady was injured in the Pats season opener at home versus the Kansas City Chiefs when safety Bernard Polard ran into his left knee after the QB threw a pass. It was 29 days later that the Patriots' star quarterback underwent the original surgery designed to repair his torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee.

Brady, who is out for the entire season, is considered to be one of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL. He was the NFL MVP in 2007, a three-time Super Bowl winner and Super Bowl MVP. He was Sportsman of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
