Thursday, April 17 2008 -- FC Barcelona are ready to undergo a massive revamp in the summer irrespective of whether the Catalan giants win the UEFA Champions League or not. President Joan Laporta is looking to sign some big name players and one of the players who has apparently caught his eye is the Valencia star man David Silva.
Silva is just 22 years of age and is already a Spanish international. His favourite position is the left side of the midfield although on several occasions for Valencia he has successful plyed his trade as a striker.
The rumour is that Barca could prisk him away from the Mestalla as they are almost certain to lose Ronaldinho to AC Milan in the summmer. Valencia are struggling to stave off relegation from La Liga as they hover just 5 points above the dropzone with just 6 more rounds of matches to play in the Spanish first division this season.
Player exodus is expected at the Mestalla even if los Che do survive in the Spanish top flight. Star striker David Villa has already made it clear that he wants to leave Valencia at the end of the season and although David Silva has kept mum on his future and has persistently backed his otherwise beleaguered coach Ronald Koeman, he too is expected to move on elsewhere.
