Group match against England

New Zealand’s second match was against England on 11th June 1975. The venue of this match was Trent Bridge in Nottingham. New Zealand won the toss and decided to field. England scored 266 runs for 6 wickets in 60 overs. Keith Fletcher scored 131, Mike Denness scored 37 and Frank Hayes scored 34. New Zealand was all out for 186 in 60 overs. John Morrison scored 55 and Tony Greig took 4 wickets for 45 runs. Fletcher was awarded the Man of the Match. England won this match by 80 runs.

Group match against India

The third match of New Zealand was against India on 14th June 1975. The venue of this match was Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. India won the toss and decided to bat. In 60 overs, India was all out for 230 runs. Syed Abid Ali scored 70 while Anshuman Gaekwad contributed 37. Brian McKechnie took 3 wickets for 49 runs. In reply, New Zealand scored 233 runs for 6 wickets in 58.5 overs. Glenn Turner scored an unbeaten 114 while Brian Hastings made 34. Syed Abid Ali took 2 wickets for 35 runs. The Man of the Match was Glenn Turner and New Zealand won the match by 4 wickets.

Semi final against West Indies

New Zealand played its semi final match against West Indies on 18th June 1975. The venue for this match was the Oval in London. West Indies won the toss and put New Zealand to bat.
