Vijay Singh wins FedEx Cup

Sunday, October 5 2008 -- Sept. 28, 2008, Atlanta, USA - Vijay Singh found it hard to be passionate when playing golf during his last two tournaments. However, with his recent $10 million win, he should be as happy as pie now.

Singh won the FedEx Cup and pocketed the hefty bonus that was given together with the title. While playing, Singh simply finished the whole event in four rounds at the said Tour Championship. His playing style during the said tournament was nowhere near his playing performance at the East Lake competition, where he landed on a tie at 22nd place. He was a huge 16 strokes behind Camilo Villegas, who eventually came out as the winner.

The lack of passion Singh exhibited is quite understandable especially since he won the PGA Tour's first two main events, and he built such a huge lead that other players would have to put in double time just to catch him, or they would have to wait until he was disqualified or chose not to play.

According to Singh, "You make a bogey, you get congratulated. You make a double, you get congratulates... It didn't really matter what I made. It took away the focus of playing this tournament. I tried really hard. When I left to come here to play, I said, 'I'm going to keep focus.' But that's as far as I got."

After having a rocky kickoff at the start of the season, Singh managed to overcome numerous aches and pains, and managed to finish with three wins since August.

When asked to assess his season, Singh said, "up there among one of the best."
