Friday, October 3 2008 -- According to latest reports emerging from Spain, it seems that the current Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster shall not remain the coach of the reigning Spanish champions for the next season.
Schuster, a former FC Barcelona player, was appointed the coach of Real Madrid in the summer of 2007 and led the Merengues to LaLiga success in the 2007-2008 season. In the summer of 2008, Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon and the club's sporting director Pedrag Mijatovic decided to let Schuster carry on.
But it has been reported that with Schuster not following the club's mode of letting the president and the sporting director do the signings, both Calderon and Mijatovic have lost patience with Schuster. Schuster made it clear in the summer that he wanted another striker and that he wanted Robinho to stay on at the Bernabue but Mijatovic, a former Real Madrid player, decided not to sign any new striker and is also thought to be the main reason to drive Robinho off to Manchester City.
Bernd Schuster has also made it clear that he would like a new striker in January 2009 but Mijatovic has denied that he would sign any. This has led to a friction between the coach and the sporting director and according to some sections of the Spanish media Bernd Schuster would be asked to leave in the summer of 2009.
