Monday, September 29 2008 -- It was declared by the Toronto Raptors team that a training camp has been scheduled to begin from the 30th September to 4th October 2008 at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. The two-a-day practices have been finalized to be held at the Ravens Nest Gymnasium in the premises of Carleton University. These practice sessions would not be open to public. The team would return to their home arena, Air Canada Center on the 5th of October 2008.
General Manager Colangelo’s words
This is the first time the Raptors have organized a camp in the capital city of the country. The Raptors President and General Manager, Bryan Colangelo commented that “We are very excited to hold training camp in our nation’s capital, symbolizing our identity as Canada’s team. Carleton University offers us state of the art facilities and a great working relationship with a highly successful basketball program.”Upcoming Games
On 4th October 2008 at 1 pm, an open intrasquad game would be hosted by the team at Ravens Nest Gymnasium. The 2008 preseason would be opened by the Raptors at Cleveland on 7th October. Then, the team would return home and play at Air Canada Centre against New York Knicks. The 2008-09 regular season opener of the club is planned to be held at Philadelphia on 29th October. On 31st October, the home opener would be played against the Golden State Warriors.User rating
