Wednesday, September 24 2008 -- Ernie Grunfeld, the President of Washington Wizards, declared that Juan Dixon, the free agent guard, was again brought into the team. However, the terms of the contract were not disclosed. Grunfeld said “Juan is a proven NBA player and we like what he brings to our team. He is a tough, hard-nosed competitor who can score and his familiarity with our system is an added plus.”
On his return to his former team Dixon revealed “I’m excited to return to the area and to resume my career with the Wizards. I’m looking forward to the start of training camp and I’m ready to step in and contribute wherever Coach Jordan and the team sees fit.”

Dixon’s background
Dixon was a student of the University of Maryland where at the 2002 Final Four he was awarded the Most Outstanding Player honors and he led the Terrapins to the NCAA title. During the 2002 NBA Draft he was chosen by Washington Wizards as the 17th overall pick. He played for 3 seasons with the Wizards and participated in 176 games with an average of 1.6 assists and 8.2 points per game. He has been playing for 6 continuous years so far and has been associated with the Pistons, Raptors, and the Trail Blazers. In the previous season, there were 53 matches between Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons in which Dixon averaged at 1.8 assists and 5 points per game. His NBA (National Basketball Association) career averages are 1.7 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 8.9 points per game.
