Sunday, September 14 2008 -- Season tickets for the Oklahoma Thunder (the Seattle Supersonics that were) have sold out, in only five days since they were first offered.
The Thunder will play in the Northwest Division, against new rivals, the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trailblazers and Utah Jazz.
About 13,000 Thunder season tickets were sold, and a lot of names have been put on a waiting list. (Should the Thunder not start out with a good season, who knows how long people will keep those season tickets?)
Critics are pointing out that these season tickets were probably mostly sold to corporate clients...and thus is deceptive as to how popular this team is actually going to be in Oklahoma City.
Tickets to individual games will be sold starting next month.
The season itself begins on October 29, 2008 when the Thunder go up against the Milwaukee Bucks.
