Apology for breaking NBA rules

Monday, September 8 2008 -- Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur (Chalmers former Kansas teammate) were caught by the security during the four day session of the NBA in a room along with two women. The security officers also sensed the odor of marijuana. No drugs were recovered from the place but as the NBA policy of not entertaining any guests was broken these two rookies were sent home by Stern.

Chalmers revealed that all those who know him regard him as a good individual and he takes pride on executing the right thing. He said that he was abashed that this incident happened and accepted that he had broken the rules however disagreed that he had smoked marijuana.

Chalmers is a Miami Heat rookie guard and five months back had assisted Kansas to be victorious in the NCAA championship. Through his team he issued an apology to the Kansas basketball family, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, Heat president Pat Riley, Heat owner Micky Arison and NBA commissioner David Stern.

Chalmers disclosed that whatever happened would not occur again and he had made a wrong decision of putting himself in the situation. He was looking forward to begin his NBA career as it was a dream of a lifetime of playing in the NBA and being a member of the Miami Heat.

Arthur told that he had nothing to do with marijuana and he committed a mistake of bringing the women in the premises and breaking the rules. He wished to apologize to all his fans, the owner and the GM. He added that henceforth he would behave in a straightforward manner and nobody would hear news similar to this regarding him in the future.
