Tuesday, September 2 2008 -- Tuesday, September 2, 2008 -- On Monday night, there was only one WNBA game - the Los Angeles Sparks versus the Minnesota Lynx.
It was a tale of one quarter. The Lynx got out to a lightning start in the first quarter, scoring 22 points against the Sparks' 16. After that...it was all Sparks. They came back to tie the game at the half, and outscored the Lynx by ten or more in both the third and fourth quarters, for a win 82-58.
For the Sparks, rookie Candace Parker contributed 24 points and 16 rebounds, and Lisa Leslie added 20 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks.
The Lynx shot 33 percent in recording a season low in points.
Seimone Augustus scored 13 points and Nicky Anosike had 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Lynx are now 14-14, after they'd gotten off to their best start ever. It will be a test of their composure if they can put together another winning streak to save their season.
The Sparks (18-12) won their fourth game in row, and are now just a game and a half behind the San Antonio Silver Stars, who lead the Western Conference.
