Thursday, August 21 2008 -- Wednesday, August 20, 2008 -- The Seattle Mariners lost again to the Chicago White Sox, 15-3.
The only bright spot of the game was that Ichiro grabbed 3 hits, raising his total to 163 hits. He still needs 37 hits to reach 300...and he doesn't have a lot of games to do it in.
Meanwhile, Raul Ibanez continues to knock the cover off the ball. He went 2-4 and had 3 RBI. (One wonders if someone isn't going to try to pick Raul up for a play-off run...there are plenty of teams that can use him.)
Meantime, the Mariners simply need pitching. Felix Hernandez, "The King" certainly didn't live up to hype this year, and neither did Erik Bedard.
For the White Sox, A.J. Pierzynskiwent 3-5 with a 3-run homer.
Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 609th homer, which ties him with Sammy Sosa on the all time homerun list. For those Mariners fans with long memories, it was perhaps a bittersweet pill, as Ken had played for the Mariners for his first 11 years in the league.
