Wednesday, August 20 2008 -- After weeks of speculation, the future of the Spanish international striker David Villa has finally been resolved and there's good news for Valencia supporters.
Reports in the Madrid based Spanish sports daily Marca state that Villa has been confirmed to stay on Valencia. His agent José Luis Tamargo has told Marca that an agreement with the club is well and truly on its way and that his client to going to stay on at the Mestalla for the time being.
"Talks are going extremely well and these talks take a while," he said.
"These talks are just about David Villa and Valencia, no other player, and all that's needed is time.
"At the next meeting we'll resolve it all."
This implies that Valencia have managed to hold onto their top players in the off-season after all of them were being tipped t move off elsewhere after last season's downhill slide.
