Wednesday, August 20 2008 -- The start of the 2008 NFL season is about two weeks away and that means that clubs are desperate to upgrade and underpin worrisome units and positions. Two players are currently being talked about—Dolphins' QB John Beck and former Falcons' receiver Joe Horn.
But Johnson has been playing well in the preseason, and the Cowboys are no longer concerned.
Beck to Cowboys?
John Beck, the former BYU standout who's entering his second NFL season, was rumored to possibly be going to the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas had concerns regarding backup QB Brad Johnson, and Beck, a former second-round draft pick, looked like a fine upgrade. But Johnson has been playing well in the preseason, and the Cowboys are no longer concerned.
Horn's making Noise
After being released by the Falcons, receiver Joe Horn is looking for a new team. It's been reported that Horn's agent said on Tuesday that the wideout would like to go to the Tennessee Titans or the Dallas Cowboys. He's also focused on possibly making a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Horn, who is 36, may find a spot somewhere, but his age is certainly working against him. Over the past three seasons, Horn's numbers have steadily diminished. The Call
Beck stays with Miami and Horn finds a home as a backup, perhaps on the Bengals, if he's willing to go there or maybe with the Jags. Both teams have taken big injury hits in their receiving units.User rating
