Sunday, August 17 2008 -- Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is used to winning awards and accolades by now but this time he has been bestowed with a queer kind of an honour.

"Gaygolddiggers" have named the 23-year old Portuguese international winger as the "Gay Icon". Ronaldo has won several female hearts and although he is straight (presumably!), it seems that he is in high demand by men too!

A spokesman for 'gaygolddiggers' said, “Ronaldo’s ripped body, slicked-back hair, shiny white teeth and jewellery swung the votes his way. He looks like any gay man or woman’s dream. What with being Footballer of the Year, scoring 42 goals last season and former girlfriends saying he is talented off the pitch, he seems to have everything going for him.”
