Monday, August 11 2008 -- According to the Madrid based Spanish sports daily Marca, reigning Premiership and European champions Manchester United are on the verge of signing the highly rated Spanish international David Silva from Valencia.
This is the first time that United have been linked with the 22-year old as Valencia struggle to hold onto their major stars as the summer transfer window starts to slam down shut.
David Silva has been linked with a number of top draw clubs including Atletico Madrid and Liverpool and now Man United have barged into the equation. According to Marca, Man United are ready to splash out as much as 18 million pounds for the services of Silva for next season.
Valencia though might just not agree. Last week Silva and his agent were reportedly happy with contract negotiation talks with the club but it appears that there are still some stoned left unturned.
