Friday, August 1 2008 -- Friday, August 1, 2008 -- Michelle Wie played on the PGA tour on Thursday and Friday...she had an even round on Thursday and if she'd managed to play well on Friday she might have managed to make the cut.

But, she "fell apart on the back nine" and did not make the cut. She did score better than about six other men who played in the same tournament...not that that means anything.

The fans lining her route cheered her...they wanted her to do well, but she simply was not up to the task.

And now practically every sportswriter and sports talk host is commenting on how she should give up playing with the men and try to win on the women's tour.

And that only makes sense.

Michelle's professional career has been mismanaged since the beginning. One could blame the advertising executives who were so willing to pay this young woman so much money before she'd actually won anything at all, and now they're suffering from it... and in reality, so is she.

Michelle doesn't seem to have any grasp on reality. Sure, there's a few hundred people in the galleries who want to see her do well, but most people view her simply as a sideshow, detracting from the real game.

The aftermath of this debacle will be interesting - will the PGA give her an exemption for yet another event? And if so, will she actually take it?
