Friday, August 1 2008 -- Is Andre Agassi off retirement? Agassi is still on retirement but that doesn’t mean that his involvement in charity events come to a halt. This coming September 27, 2008, Andre Agassi was asked to play at a charity event hosted by Bob and Mike Bryan – one of tennis’ top-ranked doubles team. The charity event is entitled The Bryan Brother’s All-Star Tennis Smash and will take place in the Sherwood Country Club. The charity event will benefit various local as well as national charities. Aside from Andre Agassi, Lindsay Davenport (former no. 1) and James Blake are also part of the event’s activities.
This charity event will be the first to support the Bryan Brothers Foundation. One of the brothers’ inspirations for the building of the foundation was Andre Agassi’s own charity foundation. Andre Agassi is not new to appearing in charity events. In fact, he’s appeared in many charity events while still being an active player in tennis. One charity event Andre attended was together with wife Steffi Graf. Andre even passes up a Davis Cup match back in 1998 to attend an annual charity. Andre Agassi has even hosted his fair share of charity events; one in particular was to provide private tennis lessons while the proceeds all go to various charities.
